Zhang Wins $10 000 in The Richler Cup

Congratulations to Alex Zhang from Montreal who picked up the trophy and the $10 000 first prize, in the third edition of The Richler Cup.    Zhang completed this great achievement by beating former Ontario champion, Phil Snache, by a scoreline of 7-2 in front of friends, family and a crowd of snooker enthusiasts.

What is next for Alex Zhang?  Rumour has it that he will be representing Canada by playing in the World Amateur Championships in the fall, side by side with fellow Montreal and Canadian champion Rodney Cuillerier.

The high run prize for the event goes to Laszlo Kovacs from New York, who picks up a bottle of Macallan Scoth, which is of course, Mordecai Richler’s favorite drink.

Thank you to the 147 Snooker Club for hosting the event.

It was a wonderful week and we will see you in Toronto next year,  and do it all over again.
