Ontario Senior Games Association Updates

The Ontario Senior Games Association originated in 1982 to create a support network promoting social and active opportunities for Ontarians 55+. There are both Summer and Winter Games each year, offering a wide variety of competitive sports, with a great core of volunteers making these events possible.

2022 York Region 55+ Summer Games

Each summer around May/June, these are played on full-size, professional tables at the Royal Canadian Legion in Aurora according to WPBSA rules.

On June 1st seven players completed a full round robin over five hours, using the 6-Reds format. To give the event more of a professional feel, the matches were refereed – the losers of a match became the referees of the following match on their table.

Medals were given out for Gold, Silver and Bronze, going respectively to Bob Bartlett, Vic Wilensky (OSGA Snooker Coordinator) and Elegius Pillai. Bob is with the Aurora Legion, Vic and Elegius are from the Thornhill Community Centre.
