Hriyan Dassani is crowned Junior Champ!!!!
Originally we had 8 junior players participating. Unfortunately, one player fell ill but we had a great field of 7 wonderful young players. In a round robin format where every player plays each opponent in a 2 framed, 6 red ball match. Dassani was on fire today, he won 10 frames and only lost 2 frames in separate matches, so he never lost a match. At 10 years old the future looks bright for Hriyan. As he told his coach, Jonathan Sun, before the tournament he wanted to be world champion. Coach Sun has told me that he is putting in the work and we can see the results of that hard work in this tournament. David Wu was able to grab second place and Margo Lisovenko completed the podium by obtaining 3rd place. Strong play by all the players involved as the future looks bright for Snooker in BC.
Big thanks to Jonathan Sun and the crew at Top 147 that helped us have a great tournament. In addition, much gratitude to Rob Johnson and the crew at AAA Photography with creating the poster to get the word out to everyone about the tournament. Thanks to Sam Tonning for his help behind the scenes. Thanks to Hanna Lisovenko for helping out and refereeing our final match. As well thanks to Vinit Dassani for helping out and taking pictures from the event. Thanks to all the players that are going to be future stars in the sport and gave it their best.
Upcoming Tournaments
The BC Team tournament will be happening again. This tournament will be running on Feb. 22nd-23rd, and the deadline to enter is Feb. 18th. Send an email to David at snookerdave21@gmail.com to get registered.
The BC Open will be running from Mar. 27-30, 2025. Registration is open and click on the link below to get registered. Poster and rules and regulations are attached to this email.
