The terms and conditions of Canada’s snooker ranking system were established as a result of researching how other successful leagues are currently doing it. This includes other cue sports disciplines & leagues, as well as Golf & Tennis.

Who is eligible to play on the tour?
The Canadian Snooker tour is open to any player in the world that wishes to compete, and has an official *amateur status. *For the definition of “amateur status”, please refer to the policy governance of our website.
When does the tour begin?
The schedule for the tour can be viewed on the “Upcoming Events” section of the website. In order to work with all the rooms involved, event dates will be rolled out every few weeks as the tour progresses.
Where do the events of the tour take place?
The tour has events in various cities around the country, and the details can be viewed on the “Upcoming Events” section of the website.
What is the dress code to play on the tour?
While specific dress codes will not be enforced during regular ranking events, we do encourage you to avoid wearing sneakers, sandals, jeans and t-shirts, and hats. In order to elevate the status and image of our game, we encourage everyone to wear dressed pants, shoes, & shirts with a collar.
Can I practice before my match?
Each player will be given 5 minutes to practice before the scheduled match. Of course, if a player wishes to come in early and practice more, he or she is welcome to do that.
How are the draws made for these events?
All draws will be made either in front of the players or live on the internet with witnesses.
Which rules will be used for these ranking events?
All events will be played under the rules of the IBSF (www.ibsf.info) with the exception of 1 rule, the miss rule. This will be have a maximum of than 3 misses after which the opposing player will have a choice of whether to shoot or ask the opponent to shoot. If there are any issues or questions, please ask the tournament director of your event.
What is the deadline to register for an event?
The deadline to register is 2 days before the event at 8 p.m., however, all registrations are accepted on a first come first serve basis and once the event is full, unfortunately, we cannot accept any more registrations. The maximum number of entries depends on where the event will take place.
Are there any fees associated with playing on the tour?
No, there are no fees associated with playing on the tour. No statistician fees. No tournament director fees. No green fees. The only requirement is that a player be a good standing member of Snooker Canada.
How do I become a member of Snooker Canada?

What is the entry fee of each event?
Entry fees will vary depending on the location you play in. All entry fees must be paid for before the tournament begins. We encourage you to make arrangements to register as soon as you know if you will be playing in an event.
What forms of payments are accepted?
Cash, check, Paypal, all major credit cards, direct deposit, email transfer.
Can I be reimbursed if I don’t show up to the event?
Unfortunately, payments cannot be reimbursed for the simple reason that someone else’s spot was turned away because yours was reserved. Please make sure that you will be playing before deciding to register.
What are the rules if I am late for my match?
Any player not in attendance at the designated start time will lose one (1) Frame when the match commences. If a player is not in attendance 15 minutes after the designated start time, the player will lose another frame. If a player is not in attendance 30 minutes after the designated start time, the player will lose the match automatically. If both players are in default of being absent after the aforesaid grace period of 30 minutes, both players will be forfeited, and the match deemed to be a walkover against both players and no re-scheduled matches will occur. Under extenuating circumstances, the tournament director shall have the right to consider valid appeals in writing submitted by the aggrieved player(s) concerned and must be informed in writing of the player’s indisposition at least thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled start time of the match in reference. The granting or otherwise of a rescheduled match in this instance is at the absolute discretion of the tournament director.
What are your policies with conduct?
Snooker Canada is making every effort to raise the standard of the game in order for it to be respected by the players, spectators, and potential sponsors. As such, any conduct that represents the game in a negative manner will not be tolerated. Our zero tolerance policy means that the tournament organizer will have the discretion to expel any player from the tournament that insists on ignoring these policies.
How does the ranking system work?
We tried to keep things really simple. A player receives points just for showing up and then receives 100 extra points for every round he or she advances. For events with 16 players or less, each player starts with 400 points in the first round. If an event has more than 16 players, each player receives 300 points in the first round.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount of events I can play in?
No, any player can play in any event in Ontario or Quebec. The Western provinces and the Maritimes will have their own independent systems.

The end of the season will culminate into the 3rd annual Richler Cup where the top ranked 48 players from the Ontario / Quebec will advance to compete for $25 000 in prize money.
How many players will compete in the 2016 Richler Cup
64 players will compete. The top 48 players from the ranking system will be joined by 16 wild card spots that will come from outside of Quebec & Ontario
Is my spot transferable if I cannot make it to the Richler Cup?
Yes, as long as it is transferred to a person that participated in at least one event during the season.
Can I still play in the Richler Cup without playing in the ranking events?
No, unfortunately in Quebec & Ontario, the only players that are eligible to play in The Richler Cup are players that play in the league. Wild card spots will be reserved for players with extenuating circumstances as well as players outside of Ontario and Quebec.
