Snooker in the Summer?

I was always under the impression that everyone hangs up their cue in the summer, sort of like hockey.  I thought I was the only one that plays snooker year round.  Well, it turns out that this is not the case.  Not everyone takes a break, and that is good news for the game!

A couple of tournaments have been announced recently for the end of August, and registration activity is there.  Admittedly, people do not play as much, however, they do play, and if they don’t , snooker is still on their mind.  Maybe the extended pro season has something to do with it, or maybe the weather, or maybe people simply enjoy the game year round.

No matter what the case, it’s a good thing, while we might choose to take advantage of a glorious summer (depending on which part of the country you live in), I applaud everyone who still manages to pick up a cue and hit the green baize from time to time, must be one of  the reasons why we first picked up a cue in the first place.
