Alvin Chan is headed to the BC Open!!

The final BC Open qualifier is finished.  The strong young Alvin Chan was in tough a little bit in the final.  He had a clean sheet with three whitewashes under his belt and was looking to grab the BC open spot quite easily away from his opponent John Kocela.  John had a tougher round to the final, as in his first match saw him going to a decider against Jon Shoring.  Kocela was in tough with another John, John Robertson who was a previous qualifying tournament winner.  However, John Kocela was able to get past these opponents to make his way into the final.

As mentioned Chan didn’t have an easy go with Kocela.  As both players battled hard to force a decider in the final.  It was there when Alvin Chan found some wonderful form as he ran out a 58 break to take the frame, the match and secure a spot for him in the BC Open.

Big thanks to Jonathan Sun and the crew at Top 147 that helped us have a great tournament.  In addition, much gratitude to Rob Johnson and the crew at AAA Photography with creating the poster to get the word out to everyone about the tournament.  Thanks to Sam Tonning for his help behind the scenes.  Thanks to all the players that showed up and gave it their best.
