Rex Hui is the BC Open Snooker Champion!!

Rex Hui hoists the trophy high on Sunday evening with a winning line of 4-2 over Bobby Bains.  Both players were taking on their shots and knew when to bring the tactical side to the table.  A seesaw at the beginning stages of the match.  Bains made a mistake on a very easy pot in the fourth frame that allowed Hui to get in and win the frame.  At the interval it was tied 2-2.  Hui came out guns blazing from the break and didn’t look back as he not only won the first frame back after the interval, but in fact won 3 frames in row, a frame before the mid session interval, to win his first BC Championship.  Strong showings by Dave Daly and John Robertson who made it into the semifinals.  Milad Shojaei achieved the high break of 61 to add some dollars to his wallet.  No centuries but that goes to show that the tables are tough at Top 147 and Snook-D.  You can see all of the results at www.challonge.com and look for the Snooker Canada – 2025 BC Open.

We did have a few hiccups along the way with the internet and scheduling during the tournament but we are trying to do our best.  We might make a few mistakes here and there but we aim to not make the same mistake twice.  My email is always open for constructive criticism as let’s all work together to create a vibrant snooker community.

Tremendous thank yous to Lance Brommeland for troubleshooting the internet issues and making sure the tournament ran smoothly.  I appreciate all you do and thank you so much!!
