Nail Biter in Montreal Snooker League

When Kootsie scratched on the final black ball in game 4,  this is what set the tone for what was to come.  A couple of hours later, on a best 4 out of 7, the situation found itself on the final deciding frame with 3 balls remaining on the table, blue, pink and black.

Cullen just needed the blue and pink to win the match, and Kootsie needed all 3 of them.   Cullen was faced with a mid distance blue.  He had to hit it with pace in order to get position on the pink which was on the other side of the length of the table.

Not sure what went through Cullen’s as he was down on the shot but instincts must have taken over because the cue was struck with perfect timing and the blue ball was potted in the middle of the pocket.  The cue ball travelled almost 20 feet to get back to where the pink was.

Normally, this would be a simple pink to pot because the distance between the cue ball and the pink was no more than 4 feet.  But under these circumstances, any sort of twitch would cause the shot to be missed.

The results?  Again right in the middle of the pocket and the match was over, just like that.

Congratulations to both participants on a great final.  Some league players were in attendance for the entertainment as well and were treated to a great final.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the baize again soon.
