Calgary League Results

The fall session of the Calgary Snooker League finished up this past weekend with a very exciting championship match between Ramin Haidary and Mike Robinson. Ramin won the best of seven competition 4-3.

Both Ramin and Mike finished second in their respective divisions in the regular season before cruising through the playoffs and into the final.

Both players played cautiously in the 1st frame with Ramin eventually taking the win.

The 2nd frame was more open, with Mike needing snookers when they got to the colours. Ramin had a couple of unfortunate scratches on the pink ball to let Mike back in, where he cleared to win.

The 3rd frame went to Ramin, then Mike started the 4th with a break of 38 and kept the pressure on to win the 4th frame.  Ramin responded with a run of 43 and dominated the 5th frame to take a 3-2 lead.

The 6th frame came down to the black ball which Ramin scratched on. In the final frame, Ramin was able to take advantage of a few forced errors by Mike to close out the match.

In the Consolation Final, Darrell Stephens defeated Ali Bahubeshi 4-0. The Consolation playoffs produced some excellent snooker and some close matches. Darrell showed some good form and only lost 1 frame on his way to the championship.
