Vancouver To Host Wormworth Memorial
It is with great pleasure to announce the details the inaugural Ted Wormworth Memorial.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the name, Ted Wormworth was a pillar of the snooker community for decades in the province of British Columbia. It is only recently that I remember having a long talk with Ted about what we can do to develop the game of snooker some more in this country. How ironic is it that a few months later, a tournament would not only be named after his memory, but would be the largest tournament in quite some time in the area.
Ted survived three separate bouts with cancer and had a zest for life. He enjoyed playing snooker, golfing and riding his Ducati.
A special thanks to those that have worked very hard to get this thing together, including some of his old friends and associates in the Lower Mainland Senior Snooker League.
The host venue for the event will be the Terminal City Club and the dates are January 24-25.
For those of you that are interested in taking part of volunteering, please contact us at info@snookercanada.ca and we would be happy to direct you to the right person
All tournament proceeds will benefit the Variety Show of Hearts.
