Haidary Defeats Fulton To Claim Calgary Fall Session Championship
Ramin Haidary took time out from running his new Snooker Academy to end Darcy Fulton’s attempt at a 3rd straight Snooker League championship.
The opening frame in the best of five final went to Ramin who opened with a break of 26 and then held Darcy in check with neither player able to break out. Darcy won the 2nd frame by potting the blue, pink, and black to win a well-played game. Ramin ran away with the 3rd frame setting up Darcy’s concession of the frame and match.
In the Consolation Playoff Curtis Dumonceaux defeated Allan Cusack in the final by a score of 3-0.
It was a tentative 1st frame, with the opponents getting a sense of each other’s play, as it was their first match of the season. Curtis was able to get the first foothold when it came down to the colours, by clearing green to black. Allan took an early lead in the 2nd frame, but Curtis was able to fight back, aided by 2 flukes and a good safety. The 3rd frame was close but again Curtis was able to pull ahead for the win.
